Typically around this time every year, I would be preparing and entering works into the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council's Juried Exhibition, an annual show that showcases selected works by artists from all over upstate NY.
This year will be a little different... I am honored to have been asked to be the selection juror for LARAC's 2022 Juried Exhibit - Lost in Time & Space. It's a new position for me to be in but not a new experience; I've put together many juried exhibitions over the years, developing criteria for exhibitions from the regional to the national level, working with selection and award jurors from across the country to provide fair and objective jurying processes. I know it's never easy for the selection jurors, but I am so excited to be on that side of the exhibition planning for LARAC's popular juried show. I am so looking forward to seeing the entries and helping put this show together! And as a perk of being juror, I get to exhibit a couple of my own pieces...still deciding on which ones to include. I love the theme this year - it's really expansive and open to so many creative interpretations. To learn more about the exhibit and how to enter: https://larac.org/lapham-gallery/
